Mecklenburg County visitor spending reached a record $6.47 billion in 2025
Visitors to Mecklenburg County spent a record $6.47 billion in 2025, a 1.5% increase over 2024, according to new figures from Visit NC.
The county’s total accounted for 7.4% of the $37.2 billion that visitors spent statewide.
“When visitors spend money in Charlotte, residents benefit,” Steve Bagwell, CEO of the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA), said in a statement. “That spending supports local jobs and businesses, generates hundreds of millions of dollars in tax revenue and helps reduce the tax burden on the people who call Mecklenburg County home.”
